Annual Poetry Competition Opened!!!
Happy July, everyone! 
Beginning this Friday, July 1, Poet Share will host an Annual Competition for you to showcase your best poetry. Replacing the Bi-Annual Competition, this means the winning poems will be stickied at the top of their respective boards for an entire year! Post your best work in each board for a chance to win Poet Share’s Annual Competition badge. We’ll also offer separate badges for new Special Contests, Member’s Choice and a mega Brain Box contest.
All members will discover a few surprise bonuses during entries in July and polling, next month.
This year, we’ve included a fresh contest category for our newest members and those who have few posts. We invite each member, who has less than 20 poems on the site, to post a poem in the “New Member’s Contest”. The winner will receive a winner’s badge. Every entrant will also receive their choice of badge from our Trading Post! Of course, we encourage all members to enter poems for the Poetry boards’ and Special Contests Awards.
“Guests” are welcome to post a poem in the New Member Category! A first at Poet Share, guests may also join in the Round Robin.
2011 is a year of transition for Poet Share. We’ve slightly changed the site appearance, now post our Weekly Updates on WordPress Blog, our Twitter account @poetshare and are considering further enhancements. We encourage you to participate in the Annual competition and also, invite all your friends to join Poet Share in time to enter. Membership and competition entry are free!

Appreciation
Think of someone in your life who fits these adjectives: loyal, dependable, hardworking, compassionate, giving, trustworthy. Now think about the last time you did something for that person. How long has it been since you went out of the way for someone who consistently goes out of the way for you? This week, write a poem to show your appreciation for those people who are thought of as “reliable,” but in truth, are also unappreciated for their worth. Show them what you feel, but too seldom think to demonstrate.
